I've been a curly haired woman for my entire life, but it was on April 15, 2013 that I put aside the flat iron for goood and embraced my naturally curly look. I've yet to go back.
What is the first thing you notice when you meet someone new? It's more than likely their hair. Good or bad, it's part of your most valuable possesion: your image. That's why for the past 25 years as a stylist, I've fallen more and more in love with taking care of people's image, starting at the very top of their head. For 21 of those years, I've maintained a salon, handling all sorts of textures and lengths of hairs. I'm a trained and certified DevaCurl Stylist, so I mainly specialize in curly hair. I've had the privilege of working as a Platform artist, an educator, and I've trained with leaders in the industry who have helped shape and mold my skills. The past few years of my career have been focused on getting educated in curly hair care, from caring for it, to cutting it perfectly. Devachan has played a large role in educating me, but I continue to look for new areas to learn and grow.
This blog is going to be my place to share that knowledge, whether it be advice, or progress photos of the gorgeous women who allow me to work with their image. I want to help you understand your curly hair, and what it needs to truly thrive. I invite you to stay awhile, ask questions, and pick up a thing or two. I am no celebrity stylist, nor do I strive for that. I simply enjoy helping people become a more confident version of their natural selves.
