Product Review: DevaCurl

When I was learning what products to use on my own natural hair, I found reading product reviews to be the most helpful thing. So I thought it would only be right to return the favor to future curly hair girls and review of a few DavaCurl products for my first product review here on The Curl Connoisseur!

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already figured out what my go-to products are: DevaCurls NoPoo and Heaven in Hair. I use them regularly on my own hair, as well as on all of my curly clients. Being an already huge DevaCurl fan, I wanted to step outside the safety zone and try some of their other products.

I decided to try out the DevaCurl B'Leave-in and the and Arc Angel. They're both wonderful products, however for my level of curl and my own curl pattern, I found it a bit too light to control my frizz or define my curls.

The Style Process:

After wetting my hair, I started with the B'Leave-In curl boost and volumizer (it had amazing slip!). I then followed it up with Arc Angel directly on top. I styled and finished it with a wash n' go.

Here is my hair, day one, at about 50% dry:

I was very pleasantly surprised with the results so far. But How would it be when it completely drys and would it last. That's the real test. Well here's pictures from day 3.

My Review:

Pros: I loved how quickly it dried. It was super light and it was defined, without being crunchy.

Cons:   I like volume, but my hair was huge and I don't like huge. Also, it didn't last as long as my usual stylers. I typically style and go for about 4 to 7 days, but with these products it only lasted about 3 days before I felt the need to restyle.

Summary:  Ultimately, your own personal preferences come into play here. If you want big voluminous hair with definition and minimal frizz, these are definitely the products for you!

I hope this helps in your own hair journey! Please feel free to share the products you love or would like to know more about in the comments below! :)
